Policy Council

The Policy Council reviews and revises existing policy of the Association and creates new policy. It is a creating body, creating recommendations for consideration. It is an acting body, acting on concrete recommendations.

The Policy Council consists of representatives elected by association members from within each membership region. The Council is responsible to the membership and reports to the membership via publication of established policies. Any member or working body of the Association may submit recommendations for consideration by the Policy Council.

There is an annual election for those positions on the Policy Council that expire during the current year. Terms of representation begin on January 1st following the year in which Representatives are elected.

Policy Council members assist in securing nominations for association Executive Council and Policy Council positions.

Purpose:

• To determine and establish policies of the Association. The member concerns are expressed to the Policy Council by submitting a “Statement of Concern and Request for Action.”
