MSHA’s annual Spring Convention features two full days of local and national speakers presenting on an array of subjects for speech-language pathologists and audiologists. The 2018 Spring Convention will offer the opportunity to earn CEUs and network at the Hyatt Regency Bloomington-Minneapolis in Bloomington, Minnesota, April 13-14, 2018.

A special room rate of $118 per night will be available until March 15, 2018, or until the room block is sold out, whichever occurs first.


Breakout Sessions

There will be something for everyone — tracks will include speech, language, hearing, swallowing and balance disorders.



Attendees choose from small, moderated roundtable sessions and ask experts your questions: topics such as brain injury, voice, aphasia groups, literacy, multicultural issues, school-based issues, SLPA.


Posters and Contributed Papers

Attendees may visit clinical case presentations and reports, research projects, treatment outcomes, interdisciplinary programs, evidence-based practice and related professional activities. 


Student Poster Session Awards

MSHA seeks to reward and encourage excellence in research by new/emerging scholars are represented among the poster session delivered at the Annual Convention. Up to three poster presentations will be recognized each year through this award. The presenters of the winning poster sessions each will receive an award certificate.


All poster sessions presented at the Annual Convention will be eligible for the award provided that they are presented in person during the Poster Session. Winners will be announced at the Business Meeting.

There are even more reasons to attend:

  • Maximized CEs – CE hours applied for from ASHA.
  • Exhibitors – Visit the companies at the exhibit tables to peruse the latest professional products, services, and employment opportunities by experts who know them best. Attendees will leave with a few new ideas!
  • Special Events – Attendees celebrate with MSHA at our Honors and Awards Association luncheon. PLEASE plan to attend the Association breakfast and Annual Meeting to hear what MSHA has done for you through statewide advocacy in education and health care.
  • Handouts – Registrants will be able to download the handout materials prior to and after the Convention.
  • MSHFoundation Silent Auction – This event is the major fundraiser for the MSHFoundation scholarship program and is held annually at the MSHA Spring Convention. Donations are collected from individuals, corporations and local businesses, and provide a fun and active silent "bidding" opportunity for Convention participants.
