About MSHA Listservs

How the listservs work:
The listservs are e-mail distribution systems. When a subscriber sends an e-mail to the listserv e-mail address, the e-mail is delivered to every other subscribers of the listserv. Questions, responses, and comments are quickly and efficiently delivered to all participants. The amount of e-mail traffic is entirely dependent upon the participation of the listserv subscribers.

Who can participate:
The listservs are a benefit of MSHA membership; only active members of MSHA may utilize the listservs.

Education Issues

The Education Issues listserv is an exciting way for SLPs to network across the state. As the title suggests, this listserv focuses on issues in the educational setting. If you want to share a great therapy idea, find out about third-party pay, brainstorm ideas about a particular client (confidentially speaking, of course), inquire about an assessment tool, or share a resource, we are waiting to network with you. The topics are endless and this networking opportunity is just what we need. Give it a chance—we think you’ll get hooked!

Health Care Issues

Want to know how your colleagues are treating patients with paradoxical vocal fold motion? Are you looking for a second opinion on a treatment you are providing to an aphasic patient of yours? Do you wish you could find a reference for a treatment technique you read about years ago?

This listserv will help you with questions like these—and much more! Members can network with other providers working in health care about any and all clinical issues and concerns encountered by professionals working in health care settings. This is an excellent learning tool and a great way to network with your colleagues employed in health care settings. Join us!

MN Voice

The MN Voice listserv is an e-networking forum for SLPs with a strong interest in voice and voice disorders. We welcome any MSHA member to join our listserv, where we share information, discuss clinical cases, advocate for best voice care, and generally support professional practice among clinicians who treat individuals with voice disorders. We also announce the schedule of our free Thursday evening meetings in the metro area (held approximately six times per year). MN Voice members have self-organized as a continuing education voice interest group for nearly ten years, and we now have over 40 members from all regions of Minnesota on our roster.

Multicultural Issues

The multicultural issues listserv is a way for professionals across the state, across work settings, and across the disciplines of audiology and speech-language pathology to address issues concerning one of the fastest-growing segments of the population: culturally diverse individuals. We welcome all MSHA members who are dealing with this population to join the listserv. You are welcome to ask questions, share information, and let members know about upcoming events concerning multicultural professional issues. Together, we can help each other provide top-notch services to our clients!
