Advertising: Coordinate and solicit print advertising for the publications of the Association (Newsletter, Membership Directory, Convention Brochures). Association Archives: Collect, maintain, and make accessible the historical records of the Association. Audiology Affairs: Advise on audiological issues. Membership is made up of audiologists representing a cross-section of work settings. Continuing Education: Investigate need for and availability of continuing education experiences for audiologists and speech-language pathologists in Minnesota. Coordinate and provide support for continuing education experiences. Ethical Practices: Promote adherence to the Code of Ethics, provide information regarding the Associations professional standards and deal with violations of the Code of Ethics if necessary. Fall Conference Committee: Be responsible for the program content of the fall conference and manage operations for the conference site, including planning, registration and management. Financial Advisory: Consult with the Vice President of Finance regarding matters of financial policy, procedures and investments. Meet a minimum of once yearly (fall) to review all committee's budget requests to formulate a proposed budget. Health Care Issues: Focus on issues of importance for speech-language pathologists and audiologists in health care settings. Legislative Steering: Influence legislation and rule-making on behalf of MSHA; communicate information regarding legislative trends and proposals to the membership; facilitate grass-roots lobbying efforts. This is a joint committee with the Minnesota Academy of Audiology. MSHA is represented by Officers, committee chairs or committee members under the purview of Health Care Issues, Education Issues and Audiology. Long-Range Planning: Review, update, and, when necessary, develop goals and objectives for the Association; periodically review structure, organization and focus of the Association. Membership: Recruit and maintain membership in the Association, welcome new members, assist with processing of new and renewing members, and assist with publication of the membership directory. Multicultural Affairs: Initiate and coordinate activities related to multicultural issues in education, health care, professional development, public information and recruitment to the profession. Newsletter: Provide input relating to content and layout of the newsletter, write and/or edit articles. Nominations and Elections: Manage the nominations and elections process for the Association Officers and Policy Council Representatives. This committee is a function of the Past-President and the Policy Council. Peer Standards Review: Educate members on peer standards review guidelines for quality improvement in the areas of speech-language pathology and audiology. Coordinate outside requests for peer standards reviews. Must complete training course and be a Member of MSHA to be an active member of the committee. Recognition and Honors: Select recipients for the honorary awards of the Association and the Minnesota nominees for ASHA's DiCarlo and Kleffner Awards. School Issues: Focus on issues of importance for speech-language pathologists and audiologists in educational settings.
