Membership in the Minnesota Speech-Language-Hearing Association provides a number of benefits.
Membership is open to individuals in the field of speech-language pathology and audiology. For an explanation of membership categories, please refer to the member types listed below. MSHA reviews all applications for membership and reserves the right to deny membership to those individuals who do not meet the criteria for membership as specified in the membership requirements.
MSHA offers a rolling membership, meaning your membership begins on the date your application is approved and payment is processed, and extends for one year. Dues may be deductible as membership in a professional association on your income tax forms. Consult your tax advisor for more information. To receive member rates for an event, you must first become a member, and then register for the event(s). These will be two separate transactions.

For persons who (1) hold a graduate degree in communication disorders, speech-language pathology, audiology or speech and hearing science, or (2) hold a graduate degree and present evidence of active research, interest and performance in the field of communication disorders.
For persons who (1) hold a Bachelor’s Degree in communication disorders, speech-language pathology, audiology or speech-hearing science, or (2) have completed an associate degree in a speech-language pathology assistant program. Associate membership is not available for those who qualify for Member status.
For any person with an interest in the field of communication disorders. This membership category is available only to persons not eligible for other categories.
For persons enrolled full-time in an accredited training program and preparing for a degree in communication disorders, speech-language pathology, audiology or speech-hearing science.

For persons who have held a MSHA student membership for at least one year at the time of graduation and are renewing as a full two-year member.
For persons who have been members in good standing for at least ten years and who have (1) reached the age of 60 years and retired from professional practice or (2) been disabled and are unable to maintain professional practice
For persons with Associate or Bachelor’s degrees who have been members in good standing for at least ten years and who have (1) reached the age of 60 years and retired from professional practice or (2) been disabled and are unable to maintain professional practice.
Group Membership discounts also available
To join or renew at the group rate all applications/renewals must be submitted at one time with a single combined payment, online renewal not available for this discount. Group discounts can not be applied to student, associate, affiliate or life memberships. Paper copies must be submitted.

To receive member rates for an event(s), you must join first and then register for the event(s). These will be two separate transactions. Organizational membership-when joining as an organizational member you will need to complete you membership process and make payment. Once your membership is active you will then need to sign back in and go to sub-accounts in the profile to add your contacts.
