MSHA’s annual Spring Convention features two full days of local and national speakers presenting on an array of subjects for speech-language pathologists and audiologists. The 2015 Spring Convention will offer the opportunity to earn CEUs and network at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Keynote Presentation

Challenge 2015 – 2015: Integrating Expertise to Improve Outcomes

with Ellen C. Fagan, ASHA’s Director of Continuing Education

Do you have the skills needed to succeed on interprofessional teams? Learn the why, what and how of interprofessional education and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPE/IPP) and join the discussion about how to foster integrative and collaborative teams in education and practice.

Breakout Sessions

Attendees may choose from among 19 presentations across 5 sessions. There will be something for everyone — topics will include Speech, Language, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Fluency, Parent Coaching (a Hanen Centre presentation), Literacy, ASD, Feeding, Inter-professional Collaboration, and Practice Management. Click here to view the list of breakout sessions.

Roundtables

Attendees choose from among 9 small, moderated roundtable sessions, including such topics as stuttering, push-in service model, CFY, using APPs to help people after brain injury, bilingual/CLD, advocacy and doctoral study.  New this year:  attendees can participate in one-hour moderated sessions on both days of the convention. Click here to view the list of roundtables.

Posters and Contributed Papers

Attendees may visit clinical case presentations and reports, research projects, treatment outcomes, interdisciplinary programs, evidence-based practice, and related professional activities. Forums and papers will be presented during the poster session on Friday, April 10 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.

There are even more reasons to come:

  • Maximized CEs – 14 hours applied for from ASHA.
  • Exhibitors – Visit the companies at the exhibit tables to peruse the latest professional products, services, and employment opportunities by experts who know them best. Attendees will leave with a few new ideas!
  • Meals and refreshments – Four meals and refreshment breaks are all included in the convention registration fee. Attendees celebrate with MSHA at our Honors and Awards Association luncheon on Friday. PLEASE plan to attend the Association breakfast and Annual Meeting on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. to hear what MSHA has done for you through statewide advocacy in education and health care.
  • "À la carte” handouts – Registrants will be able to download the handout materials prior to and after the convention.
